Happy 27 Months Meia

Meia turns 27 months today and it feels like yesterday that I juz popped her. 27 months and she has made some developments. She's starting to sing now (abit late lah, but better than never). She knows how to say her alphabets (thanks to the leapfrog fridge magnets!)

She's able to interact more with us and I'm so glad that my little gal is growing up to be a very lovely gal.

Hunting for Healthy snacks for my little princess

Looking for simple snacks for Meia has become quite a task of late... well, its not because Singapore ain't well stocked, but rather I'm very selective in what goes into my little gal's tum. NO CHINA MADE PRODUCTS allowed (personal feeling, no offence to whoever)after all the food/toy scare, I'm more careful in selecting food stuff, not for Meia alone but for the whole family as well. With that said, of course my pocket suffers a big hole. Its either Organic or products from Singapore, Japan, Australia or America. It difficult because they are so many China made products here. Meia's fav braised peanuts are from China too, so my solution is to make my own braised nuts.

So what is Meia snacking on now? Mostly fresh foods or fruit, fresh corn is always in my fridge. I baked them for Meia n she loves it. She's also eating dried apricot, healthy nuts n raisins, and lotsa fruits (I'm really happy she loves them). Trans Fat is also another thing on the top of my NO NO list, so its no wonder why grocery shopping takes longer than usual.... I don't mind, all for the sake n health of my little gal.

No Money...

My little gal already knows the value of money at this tender age... this morning, she was busy playing going gai gai, I was sitting on the floor watching her. Wallet tucked under her armpit, she walked to me and said

Meia : bye bye mi mi I go gai gai
Me : bye bye girl girl
Meia : (walks one round n comes back to me, she took her wallet, opened it and...) No money? How to buy sweet???
Me : (Stumped)......

Kids these days are so smart! Teach them once and they know....

She's finally Potty Trained

Yes!!! At 26 months, Meia's finally potty trained! She's no longer in diapers now except during the night. It wasn't easy when it comes to potty training, but my little gal did it and I'm so proud of her!

Happy Memories

I was thinking about Meia yesterday while doing some packing when I chanced upon a bubble bottle which I bought for Meia before Max was born, thinking back it did bring up many happy memories for me and I'm sure for Meia too. I don't know why, but I started to recall the 1.5 months we spent at my mom's while my house was undergoing some renos. Max wasn't out yet and although taking care of Meia myself then was tiring, those were treasured times.

If I had a time machine, I would do a rewind and probably go back in time before I delivered Max. Then, Meia had my undivided attention. Her mother was completely hers and she didn't have to share me with anyone, she was the baby in the family. That period of time was great, the one on one time I had with her was just simply superb.

I'm glad Meia is able to know my Mother as well as my family, on the other hand, I feel sad for my boy as he won't have any happy memories of playing at his maternal granny's house (as much as I would like him to visit often, its not too convenient to mention y here). This is how I feel towards my two kids. And I hope in the future, Max will have his own set of happy memories too playing at my mom's.

Meia did her Poo poo in the potty!!!!!!!

YEAH!!!!! she finally did it! and I'm so proud of her! She has also been keeping herself dry during her afternoon naps, so I guess I can finally say goodbye to daytime diapers by next month!

Happy 3 months to u!! Time sure files and mommy is enjoying my time with u very much. I would like to apologise for not being able to spend more time with you... u're such an adorable boy, smiling so sweetly whenever I talk to you. Whatever little time I've with u, is a treasured moment.

I'm looking forward to watching u grow, I can't wait to interact more with u! Whatever it is, mommy loves u very much!

Hi Everyone!!! Hope each one of you are doing well and keeping healthy. Well Meia's at my mom's for the day, Max is sleeping soundly and thus I took this rare chance to surf and blog. So many things, but so little time...

I would like to update of Meia's potty training... its improving and my little gal can now run to the potty, pull down her panty and sit when she has the urge to pee. I'm so proud of her!!! Potty training your kid ain't an easy job, I gotta admit it was tough in the beginning, but I'm seeing results! *Big Smiles* BUT!!! poo-ing is another thing, she's still doing it in her panties, and it seems like her poo doesn't bother her so much... ie. she can run around the house with the poo n all stuck at her butt... lucky the panties I bought are snug enough, else we'll have poo all over the house...

Hey! Mention the panties, this Mama is absolutely crazy over buying panties for her little gal. I just went to buy two packs of tweety bird panties at JL, if my self-control soul hadn't 'spoken', I would have gone on to buy another pack of CareBear panties (they're so cute!!!) just last month, I bought a pack of Barney panties (her fav) at BHG, I think I'll probably the other pattern as well (hiak hiak, excuses excuses, I'll just buy bigger sizes to accommodate my growing kid, even Max has got himself Barney underwear!)... talking about kiasu...

Well, I gotta go now... baby's crying...
